The Truth Burns

think deeper
reach higher
the truth burns brighter than any fire

everyone has doubts
once we dip into our intellect
doubts defect

think deeper
reach higher
the truth burns brighter than any fire

struggle of the inner self
dust off books from the top shelf
read to grow
grow to know

think deeper
reach higher
the truth burns brighter than any fire

no one truely understands a situation until they find themselves in it
wait a mintute
why are there zillions of people suffering?
will it have to directly affect us before we do something?

think deeper
reach higher
the truth burns brighter than any fire

an Israeli (an American made Catipillar) bulldozer mows over another Palestinian home
millions of people in Pakistan are now living in refugee camps inside their own country
the taliban still does injustice
however, the taliban didn't cause the refugee camps
the U.S. got the Pakistani miltary to do that

a woman wears less thinking she looks hot in a little dress
she doesn't realize that those people staring at her thighs are perverts in disguise
they can't see beyond the surface
perfect make up
earrings and a necklace that match
no one sees the beauty of her lovely soul
they simply think she looks like a hoe

think deeper
reach higher
the truth burns brighter than any fire

things ain't always what they appear to be
what's on the surface is often an illusion
what's inside is often deceit and confusion

think deeper
reach highter
the truth burns brighter than any fire

  1. Salaam sister,
Your words are breathtaking. Reading them brings a tear to my eye. May Allah bless you always with this gift of poetry. I hope one day we will have the chance to meet, Insha'Allah.
Thank you, also, for the comment you left on my blog. When I think about my trip and I get nervous, I think of what you told me in your last email. It has really comforted me a lot. I'm eager to hear more about your adventures.
    Salaam <3
